About the A2 Key (KET) Exam

The A2 Key, formerly known as Cambridge English: Key (KET), is an elementary-level qualification that shows you can use English to communicate in simple situations. It's a great first step in learning English.

What is in the KET exam?

The exam tests all four English language skills: Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking.

Reading & Writing
60 minutes

You will need to understand simple written information such as signs, brochures, newspapers, and magazines. You will also have to produce simple written English.

Listening
30 minutes

You need to show you can understand announcements and other spoken material when people speak reasonably slowly.

Speaking
8-10 minutes

You will take part in a conversation by asking and answering simple questions.
